Philip Castaneda, age 63, passed away peacefully in his sleep the morning of Friday, March 17th, 2023.

Philip was born on April 15th, 1959 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Frank Castaneda and Hortencia Zulaica de Castaneda.  He had a beautiful and very talented daughter,  Alexis Castaneda Araya.

Philip graduated from Richard King High School in Corpus Christi in the Spring of 1977.  He played football for 3 years (nose guard). During the '80s and '90s he won awards in U.S. Competitive Powerlifting.

During his working life, Philip owned and ran PC Motors, Car Sales. He owned and managed Rental Properties and his Pawn Shop for over 30 years.

Philip is survived by his daughter, Alexis Castaneda Araya, his sister Hortencia Castaneda Miro, brother and sister-in-law Frank Asa and Leticia Castaneda, sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Ramiro Garza,and Nellie and Adolfo Padron, and he  leaves behind his  two nieces and ten nephews. He also leaves aunts, uncles and many cousins in Corpus Christi and Monterrey, Mexico.

Celebration Of Life Service for Philip will take place at Kelsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 1610 Comanche Street, Corpus Christi, Texas , Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 10:30 am.
